Health & Safety Protocols for Babysitting Appointments

The health and safety of nannies and families are our top priority. When considering health and safety protocols for your family, we recommend following local provincial health guidelines and recommendations.

That being said, we have additional protocols to help ensure the health and safety of both nannies and families during babysitting appointments.

Health Requirements: Nannies and Families are required to be 100% healthy during appointments.

For Nannies, this means that if you develop or have any of the following symptoms below, you won't be allowed to work.

For Families, this means that if you or anyone in your family has any of the symptoms below, you may need to cancel your babysitting appointment.

  • Coughing

  • Sneezing

  • Runny nose

  • Sore throat

  • Fever

  • Fatigue

Can the nanny care for my sick child? Some Nannies are comfortable caring for children with mild illnesses (e.g. a light cold), while others prefer to not work with sick children altogether.

Since many Nannies work with a variety of families in a given month, they typically prioritize their own health and the health of the other families they work with.

If you need an occasional nanny to care for your sick child, please share the nature of the illness when you set up your online appointment so the Nanny is aware.

Health & Safety: We encourage families and nannies to practice good hygiene, including:

  • Regular hand washing for at least 20 seconds - when you first arrive and frequently during a babysitting appointment.

  • Frequent and regular disinfection of all high touch surfaces.

  • Nannies may be required to use a mask or a face covering by the client. If the client requires the nanny to wear a mask during the appointment, this must be clearly stated at the time of booking so the nanny is aware and comfortable with this. Nannies are responsible for having their own masks.

  • No sharing of food. Nannies must bring their own snacks/meals.

  • Clients are responsible for providing appropriate disinfecting supplies for nannies to use in their homes. Clients will need to communicate specific disinfection requests with the Nanny.

  • Families: If you would like the Nanny to take a Rapid Test prior to entering your home, you must provide the Rapid Test and clearly state this in the INSTRUCTION section of your appointment. In addition, you must be willing and able to administer Rapid Tests to yourself and your family.

We understand that due to school closures and a general lack of childcare across Canada, nanny services are in high demand. We are doing our best to continue to provide in-home Babysitting services during this challenging time and it’s our goal to help as many families as possible.

Please Note: Our policies and ability to provide this service may change based on Government Regulations.
