Bananas for Bananas!

I love ice cream, I mean, who doesn’t? It is a tasty treat that seems to make summer all that more…well, summery! I just cannot have very much ice cream. For a variety of reasons, one being that my tummy and dairy are not getting along as well as they used to.

Enter Bananas. Bananas make a almost identical ice cream treat! I know, I know…that is bananas, right? Here is the recipe (the very easy recipe, might I add) for you to try, and love, yourself.

First things first – get a small plate or tupperware type dish.

What you need – 2 bananas (that is IT!)

What to do – Peel said bananas, and slice them coin style. When you are finished, it should look like you have a bunch of quarters made out of bananas.

Place the banana coins flat on the plate/dish. Now freeze. Now what? Wait. You need to let the fruity quarters freeze for at least an hour.

Are we there yet!? Has it been an hour, at least? Ok, good. Take out the bananas and pop them into a food processor. This is where the magic happens! Press the button and watch the coins of bananas whir into a creamy blend. The minute the mixture looks like ice cream stop  blending, and empty the “ice cream” into bowls or cones. Now you just have to eat it before it melts!

Added fun: You can top or mix in just about anything you like. Almond butter, chocolate chips, melted nutella, smarties, oh I could go on and on and on. Have some fun! After all that hard work making the stuff, you earned it.
