This past weekend I had the absolute privilege of attending the Babies in Bloom fair in Kelowna which hosts the Okanagan’s biggest baby experience! Having been in the nanny biz for many years, I was expecting to see much of the same that we see at trade shows. But I was pleasantly surprised…not only by the amazing kids and parents I met, but also because I made so many fantastic connections. Bobs and Lolo were center stage which packed the house, as well as Kiki the Eco Elf, who all the children adored. There was also a face-painting booth and many of the exhibitors had crafts, food or toys to keep the little ones occupied.
Kym from Kelowna/Vernon New Parent was there and offered me a spot in her online directory, and I connected with many great boutique shops such as Debra from Poppy’s Closet and Lorena from Peekaboo Beans. Positioned next to us was Darcy Fath from Investors Group who is a riot with stories of his many years of experience as a financial planner. Pam Nease offered support to parents with sleep consultations and I couldn’t resist stocking up at the children’s specialty book both.
Overall the fair was a huge success and I am excited to attend again next year! Thanks to everyone that came out to meet some of the Kelowna Nannies on Call staff and of course to Kate, Tara and Nanny Vicky for all your hard work in making it a weekend to remember 🙂
