Step 1 – Meet with the parents in person or on the telephone
Step 2 – Meet with the parents and the child
Step 3 – Begin with a progressive relaxation activity
Step 4 – Relaxation gradually develops into interactive therapy as the child becomes more familiar and comfortable with the hypnotherapist. Child naturally becomes more talkative
Step 5 – Positive direct suggestion is always utilized
Step 6 – Activities or goals for the child and parents are set
Step 7 – Child gives their feedback and a discussion with the parents and child takes place at the end of the session
Step 8 – Private follow up call with the parents
