Pistachio is the eco-friendly consumer’s one-stop shop. The beautiful modern store welcomes you in with unique ideas for gifts, skincare, housewares, books, clothes, stationary – and for the eagle-eyed family shopper, this one’s a keeper: baby products they have.
Why point out for the babies? Glad you asked. According to Nanny Erin who popped in for a tour of wonders, all products must meet the strict eco-criteria set forth by Pistachio — which we think will likely get Toronto mamas excited. Here’s the Pistachio credo as reported by Erin:
Biodegradable, Eco-Certified, Local and/or Handmade, Recyclable, Fair Trade, Organic, Recycled, Paper, Post-Consumer Waste. Kinda fits to the Alphabet song, right? And of course they have a handy webpage which explains it all in detail if you’d like to get serious about the environmental guidelines they follow (which they do).
That said, no one will throw nuts at you if you forget to demand answers once you step into the store and go bleary-eyed from all the pretty things. We know you care. And Pistachio really does.
Their friendly, knowledgeable staff is quick to offer hands on service – so don’t shy away if you have a question. Nanny Erin was impressed with Pistachio’s selection of books and toys for tots which emphasize the importance of keeping our planet healthy.
Now, everyone together: Biodegradable, Eco-Certified, Local and/or Handmade, Recyclable…
